Matt Germain enters his fifth season as Head Coach at South Glens Falls, where he has built one of Section 2’s most competitive programs. Since 2022, he has led the Bulldogs to a 55–16 record, two Foothills Conference Championships, and four straight NYS Section 2 Championship appearances.
A Tully, NY native, Germain was a two-time All-Conference midfielder and team captain at Tully High School before continuing his career at LeMoyne College, Herkimer CC, and SUNY Cortland, earning All-Conference honors and a league championship at LeMoyne.
Under his leadership, South Glens Falls has produced 51 All-Foothills selections and 17 collegiate players. With collegiate coaching experience at the University of Colorado and more than a decade developing youth players in the SGF community, Germain brings a championship mindset and proven player-development track record to the Stags 2027 Purple Team.
A native of the Capital Region, Coach Billy Hogan brings a high level of collegiate experience and local expertise to the Stags Lacrosse staff. Growing up in a prominent Albany lacrosse family, Billy went on to compete as a standout midfielder for the University of Notre Dame. During his time with the Fighting Irish, he was recognized for his athleticism and high lacrosse IQ, helping the program establish its reputation as a national contender.
Today, Coach Hogan is a dedicated mentor within the Stags program, focusing on the technical and tactical development of players throughout the region. His coaching philosophy emphasizes building a strong fundamental base and sharpening game-time decision-making to prepare athletes for the transition to high school and collegiate play. With a deep commitment to the local lacrosse community, Billy utilizes his Division I perspective to help every Stags player elevate their overall game and competitive drive.
Our 2027 team trains with a high-energy, development-focused practice schedule designed to build strong fundamentals, sharpen lacrosse IQ, and elevate overall performance. Players will work through skill development, position-specific training, gameplay concepts, and full-speed competitive reps — all led by experienced Stags coaches dedicated to helping each athlete grow.
