Team 2029

Head Coach: amir taylor

A Capital Region native, Coach Amir Taylor is a lifelong multi-sport athlete with deep roots in the Christian Brothers Academy community. At CBA, Amir was a three-year starter and team captain in both lacrosse and football, earning recognition for his leadership, competitiveness, and consistent impact on the field.

Following high school, Amir completed a postgraduate year at the prestigious Salisbury School, where he continued to excel as a varsity lacrosse and football player. His performance and work ethic earned him the opportunity to compete at the Division I level at Siena University, where he contributed as a versatile midfielder and defender.

Known for his speed, agility, and elusiveness, Amir brings a strong foundation of fundamentals, discipline, and a team-first mentality to every practice and game. His coaching philosophy emphasizes player development, accountability, and helping athletes grow both in skill and confidence.

Amir currently serves as the Head Coach of the Christian Brothers Academy Lacrosse Program, leading the next generation of student-athletes with the same passion and commitment that defined his playing career. Drawing on experience at every level—from youth to Division I—he is dedicated to building a competitive, disciplined, and character-driven program

Asst Coach: Vonzel Legall

Vonzel Legall joins the staff with a wealth of experience as both a Division I athlete and a collegiate coach. A native of Saratoga Springs, NY, Legall established himself as a versatile two-way midfielder known for his athleticism, defensive grit, and transition play. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), where he helped guide the Engineers to a Liberty League Championship and an NCAA tournament appearance.

Legall played Division I lacrosse at Stony Brook University in the America East Conference. A key contributor to the Seawolves' midfield, he specialized as a Defensive Midfielder (SSDM), tasked with matching up against top opposing dodgers. During his tenure at Stony Brook, he was a consistent presence in the lineup, playing in nearly every game during his sophomore and junior seasons. His collegiate career was highlighted by his ability to spark transition, recording career highs in ground balls and caused turnovers during the team's 2010 campaign, while also contributing offensively with key goals and assists.

Before his collegiate career, Legall was a standout athlete at Saratoga Springs High School.  A three-year letter winner, he graduated as a prolific playmaker, breaking the school record for assists in a single season with 41 as a senior.
