Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at JT@albanystags.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Stags Lacrosse is built for experienced youth and high school players who are committed to elevating their game. Our program is designed for athletes seeking elite instruction, advanced competition, and high-level development opportunities.

Players must either earn a roster spot through tryouts or receive a direct invitation from our coaching staff. Tryouts ensure we maintain a high-level environment where every athlete is surrounded by competitive peers.

We field elite teams in multiple youth and high-school age groups, specifically serving players in the 2026–2035 graduation years. Each roster is carefully constructed to ensure positional balance and the right mix of elite-level skill sets.

Players must have full, properly fitted lacrosse equipment, including: helmet, shoulder pads, gloves, arm pads, stick, cleats, and mouth guard. Goalie gear is required for goalies. Uniform packages are provided as part of the program.

 Stags tuition includes:

  • Elite-level team practices

  • Coaching from high-level and collegiate-experienced staff

  • Tournament entry fees

  • Full apparel/uniform package (youth only)

  • Access to our athletic trainer at all practices and training sessions

We offer flexible payment choices to make participation accessible. Families can choose to pay in full at registration or take advantage of our easy 6-installment payment plan.

Our elite season includes spring practices and a summer tournament circuit. Specific dates vary by team and will be communicated after evaluations and roster placements.

Teams are constructed based on performance at tryouts, positional needs, coach evaluations, athleticism, lacrosse IQ, and overall fit within the roster. Coaches aim to create balanced, competitive teams capable of thriving at elite tournaments.

Yes. Our certified athletic trainer is present at all Stags practices and training sessions to ensure proper warm-ups, injury prevention, on-site care, and recovery guidance.

Yes. While our primary focus is elite player development, we also support athletes who aspire to play at the next level. Our staff provides guidance on the recruiting process, exposure opportunities, and how to showcase your skills effectively. Players who demonstrate the ability and commitment to compete in college will receive individualized direction to help them navigate their recruiting journey.

We expect all athletes to arrive fully prepared and ready to begin at the scheduled practice start time. Our program prides itself on organization and efficiency, so coming equipped and on time ensures we can maximize every minute of training. This includes having all required gear, being properly warmed up, and being mentally ready to compete and improve.
