Eoghan Sweeney brings a proven track record of championship-level success and elite leadership to the Albany Stags Lacrosse Club. A standout midfielder at Niskayuna High School, Sweeney helped lead his team to the 2015 New York State Championship alongside three Sectional and two Regional titles. His dominant high school career culminated in 2018 when he was named a US High School All-American, the Times Union Player of the Year, and a 3rd Team All-NYS Midfielder. He continued his success on the national stage at Salisbury University, finishing as an NCAA National Runner-Up in 2022, and went on to earn NE-10 2nd Team All-Conference honors in 2023.
Extending his impact both on the field and from the sideline, Sweeney earned NABLL 2nd Team honors at the 2025 National Box Tournament while transitioning into coaching. He served as an assistant coach at the collegiate level with Russell Sage in 2025 before joining the Shaker High School staff as a JV assistant coach in 2026, where he helped guide the program to both Sectional and Regional Championships. Combining elite playing experience across field and box lacrosse with a strong coaching pedigree, Sweeney is a key asset to the Albany Stags Lacrosse Club.
