The Albany Stags are proud to welcome Matthew Graham to our coaching staff. A dedicated mentor known for his commitment to player development and team culture, Graham brings a wealth of high-level playing and coaching experience to the program.
Graham’s coaching resume includes a tenure as an Offensive Assistant at The College of Saint Rose (2018–2019), where he was instrumental in offensive game planning, scouting, and individual skill development. Most recently, as a Varsity Head Coach, he has led his programs to consecutive semifinal berths and has successfully mentored numerous student-athletes who have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division II and III levels.
As a player, Graham was a standout four-year starter at The College of Saint Rose (2014–2018). He finished his collegiate career second all-time in program history in points, earning NE-10 All-Rookie and All-Conference honors while serving as team captain. A product of Arlington High School, Graham’s deep roots in the game inform his coaching philosophy: teaching "the right way." He prioritizes fundamentals, elite decision-making, and a team-first mindset to build confident, disciplined athletes with a high lacrosse IQ and strong leadership skills on and off the field
Max Neeson joins the Albany Stags Lacrosse Club as the Assistant Coach for the 2030 team, bringing an elite background as one of the most decorated defenders in recent UAlbany Great Danes history. A two-time All-American, two-time First Team All-Conference selection, and two-time Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Max was a foundational anchor on the field and earned a spot on the prestigious Tewaaraton Award Watchlist. Known for his relentless motor and high lacrosse IQ, Max’s approach to coaching centers on teaching fundamental defensive concepts, developing on-field communication, and building strong, disciplined team habits from the backline up.
Beyond his athletic achievements, Max represents excellence off the field as a USILA Scholar All-American, SUNY Spring Scholar Athlete, and recipient of the Liam Gleason Humanitarian Award. As the 2030 team navigates a critical phase in their youth athletic development, Max is dedicated to helping each player unlock their full potential while instilling core values of leadership, sportsmanship, and resilience. He is thrilled to partner with the Stags community and share his passion for the game to mentor the next generation of players both on and off the field.
